My first Augmented Reality (AR) game
It sounds quite impressive that I‘m able to create an AR game! It still requires improvements, however it is working!
To make it wasn’t without the trouble, to start with my Unity account, through hours spent on editing photos and then sprites, to then having to reset my phone. All that to make sure everything will work as it should.
My idea for a detective AR game was a family friendly Halloween theme.
I presented it here.
Augmented Reality adds to our vision. Modern phone cameras scan the surrounding and then extra elements can be added over it, on the screen.
My AR game was created in Unity and designated for Android OS. After deciding on a theme for my app, I had taken several Halloween related photographs and included them in my Padlet (as a mind map for my project). I used them as image targets and then added 2D animations or objects appearing on the screen over them.
Ta-da! The game’s ready. Thanks to this project I got myself familiar with Unity, Vuforia, 2D sprites and have learnt new technical skills.
