Blue Screen Nightmare
I was COMPLETELY DEVASTATED when after I turned on my laptop on a Wednesday morning and saw this terrifying screen.
I felt like a dream, a really bad nightmare actually. Sadly, it was not. It was happening in a real life. My life. 2 DAYS BEFORE MY MV PROJECT WAS DUE.
Luckily enough, I have an amazing IT support at home. Thanks to his effort the laptop was on! Unfortunately for a few seconds only and then the blue screen re-appeared.
I contacted my course leader, and I am glad I did. Talking to A. helped me to calm down.
Things I need to focus on now are:
– how much project documentation do I have outside my laptop – notes, photos, videos etc.
– gathering all the assets I have and presenting them – along with the blue screen photo…
– what is broken, if and how the laptop can be fixed?
– how soon can we have it sorted?
Photos and videos included in this MV Photos and Videos Padlet are all the records of my MV project I have at the moment. They represent some of the elements and steps I went through building my three scenes.
The worst-case scenario means I will be left without my actual project and with no machine to work on – depending on what is the actual issue with the laptop.
If the hard drive is broken, I will lose all my work.
Sadly, the COVID-19 pandemic and current restrictions in the area make the whole situation even harder as I am not even able get a replacement laptop from my college.
The best-case scenario is that my data can be recovered, and the broken laptop part replaced quickly. There is still hope as the laptop turns on for about a minute or two, before it crashes again. It is sadly not enough time to send files to the cloud but let us hope for the best.
