Marc told us through his recent productions and his interest in combining dance with technology. He said that this idea to merge these two practices into one outcome was born from pure curiosity and interest in the new emerging technologies.

Dive into Dance is one of the projects that Mark and his company, called Arts and Movements, have worked on. It is a combination of dance, choreography and XR achieving outstanding results. This production uses volumetric capture to generate a digital content the dancer is interacting with during the dance. Movement, immersive environment, and music are linked together in the Dive to Dance.

Listening to Marc and learning about his practice and experience gave my colleagues and me insight into how the technology we are studying and developing our own expertise in can be combined with various non-technical practices. Therefore, we should not be afraid of experimenting, developing ideas and collaborating with other practitioners to express our potential and deliver the outcome we want to present to the world. It is okay to try the ideas out, to experiment and to learn while working on a project.
