Sweet Animations
I must admit that my project looks cool, even though, there are still elements I need to work on. I am glad I changed my original plan and decided to create this Sweet Holiday Destination instead of a tropical island.
As mentioned in my previous entry, I had to fix some elements of the scene. I added missing textures and shaders and was ready to move on to another task.
Sadly, assets like a doughnut or a gingerbread house had to be re-done. I modelled them, created UVs, added textures once again and then placed them in the scene. I also decorated the roof of the house with little candy canes and round sweeties.
After I had created all the assets for the scene, such as additional sweeties, trees and lollipops, I moved on to animations. In my first project version, I already had some moving objects. There were three flat lollipops spinning around and an apple rolling down the hill in there. My plan was to recreate those lost animations. At this stage I worked with a timeline animation, as well as C-curve animations. Next, I added new movements to several other objects, such as a red and white candy cane appearing from underneath the ground as the animation starts to play. I made a few lollipops to spin around, what in my opinion looks very interesting as they all have various shapes and colours.
I also added animations to jawbreakers (hard round sweeties) I had created. One of them, excessively large, is falling off/rolling down the mountain, starting from the peak, while the other one is moving along the curve on the ground level of the scene.
With all the animated elements, the project looks almost magical. I managed to create a cheerful, happy place full of astonishing elements. I still need to add the right lighting and appropriate camera angles presenting my Sweet Holiday scene.
